Faith Runner is a Rust project using Bevy for presentation, aiming to recreate the first-person parkour feel of Mirror’s Edge. Its movement logic is isolated in a separate faith_move crate that depends only on the glam math library and knows nothing about Bevy, so it could in principle be hosted by another engine that supplies collision queries. Several greybox courses, including Rooftops, Moves, Springboard and Training, are included for exercising the moves.
Technically, the README states that many movement values are read from the player’s own Mirror’s Edge installation, extracting script constants from TdGame.u and inspecting some native code with Ghidra, such as ground acceleration and wallrun and wallclimb physics. Faith’s first-person body, animations and sounds are likewise loaded from the game install at startup, with procedural arms used when no install is found. No game files are bundled.
Notably, the README acknowledges approximations: materials use a standard shader, ledge hand IK and foot placement on uneven ground are not reproduced, and the source of the observed gravity doubling has not been located in native code. Most moves and course routes are verified by scripted input in tests, which does not by itself establish full playability under ordinary player control.
