This is an independently written project introduction, not a reproduction or translation of the README. Documentation permission is unconfirmed or limited in scope. Read the linked repository for the full instructions. Feature and progress claims come from the source documentation and have not been independently playtested here.

This project recreates Shock Value’s Interactive Buddy using Rust and Bevy, and the README frames it as a partial native port rather than a complete one-to-one reproduction. According to that document, the work is based on a locally obtained v1.02 SWF extraction, with provenance recorded in accompanying reference files. The repository tracks rewritten code and catalog metadata only; original art, audio, SWF exports and binaries are not included, and the playable media bundle ships separately in releases, so source builds require assets to be supplied first.

The project offers a desktop overlay mode and a traditional contained window mode. In desktop mode the character floats above other windows and can snapshot, shatter and minimize them, an interaction the README describes as opt-in. The catalog spans items, skins and modes, alongside optional passive-pet care, a custom skin painter and various sandbox tools. The README also documents controls, settings toggles and keyboard cheats, noting that some behaviors activate only under specific modes.

These feature descriptions come from the README and were not independently tested here. The project itself acknowledges only partial parity, so completeness and playability remain uncertain. Passive Pet is off by default, and some content consists of newly generated companion art rather than original exports. A release exists, but claimed behavior may differ from actual results; readers should consult the project’s validation notes for tested scope and limitations.
