This project targets the 2005 Xbox 360 release of Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, using the ReXGlue SDK to statically recompile the console code into a native Windows build. Rather than emulating the hardware, it translates the original program into PC-native code and ships a game-styled launcher that centralises display, graphics, gameplay, control, cheat and achievement settings. No game data is bundled: users must supply a disc image matching the specified title ID and hashes, which the launcher verifies before installing.

Technically, the README says the port addresses a freeze seen on the Xenia emulator at the opening “VENTURE” ship scene, where the game streams music and voice lines through reads the emulator reports as still pending, so the game believes no data arrived. The port completes those reads as the console does. Graphics additions include ambient occlusion, a distance-fog toggle, AMD FSR 1 and NVIDIA NIS upscaling, supersampling and FXAA, plus an “Original Xbox 360” look and Modern presets. The launcher also offers achievement pop-ups, button prompts, Steam integration and self-updating.

Limitations matter: the README states the project is in active development and a full play-through has not been confirmed. Above 30 fps some character animations are incorrect, pre-rendered videos pause briefly every few seconds, and the Proton build is experimental rather than native Linux support. Claims about the online player count and shader pack downloads rest on the README and were not independently verified.
