This project is a backend-preservation study for the New World: Aeternum PC client. Its stated aim is to keep the legitimately owned stock client and replace only the server side it depends on. According to the README, the initial objective is two private accounts sharing one map with mutual player movement, but the workspace is explicitly framed as research and engineering rather than a playable server release.
Technically, the README reports that the stock client reached a private HTTPS server over TLS 1.2, yet later DTLS trust attempts produced fatal unknown_ca alerts. Carrier/V3 registration, world loading and actor spawning remain unproven. The project states that no memory inspection, binary patching or EAC changes were made, and that a certificate-data-only candidate route was refused by intact EAC and retired.
Reproducible offline checks rely on Windows PowerShell 7, Git, Python 3.11 and uv, with hash-pinned upstream references and test modules. The README says reference material is not redistributed and that clients, assets, raw captures, credentials or leaked server code must not be committed. Overall, only partial connectivity and trust mapping are established; a working private server remains distant.
