SK8V Enhanced
Skate 3 gameplay in GTA V Enhanced Story Mode.
README image:Enhanced edition
README image:Tested build
README image:License
A community Enhanced compatibility port of SK8V by Hoppi / becaring. The original release targets Legacy. This repository adapts the native host, live collision reader, animation hooks, board resources, HUD presentation and audio integration for Enhanced. The original Skate simulation and gameplay remain the foundation.
Maintained by Stonqz27. Based on SK8V 1.1.8, commit 9fbef44. Original Git history, licenses and credits are preserved.
Status
1.1.8 source update; new live play test pending. The previous 1.0.9-based Enhanced checkpoint was playable on the tested installation. On October 10, 2026, the maintainer reported that the full skating test stayed stable. Separate live checks passed for animation jobs, native board/weapon loading, Direct3D 12 presentation and GTA audio streams. A headless test exercised the actual Skate runtime, board, poses, camera, scoring HUD and audio together.
An experimental installable prerelease is available from Releases. Download the named Enhanced ZIP, extract it to a permanent folder, and run SK8V Enhanced Setup.cmd. It prepares assets from your own Skate 3 disc and installed Enhanced game, with backups and restoration. Read the player setup guide for dependencies and steps. The 1.1.8 build and new first-run setup still need wider live testing. The upstream Legacy wizard is not an Enhanced installer.
Upstream 1.1.8 update
The merge includes all upstream commits from 1.0.9 through 1.1.8 while retaining the Enhanced host, collision layout, pose hooks, D3D12 HUD and audio adaptations:
- Controller detection through GTA’s XInput path, native DualShock 4/DualSense input, and the Windows uptime fix.
- Incremental collision rebuilding, lower-priority streaming checks, cached dynamic-entity lookups and lighter control processing.
- Gestures, posture/riding-style and board-equipment settings; Trick Analyzer source and optional owned-data preparation.
- Wheel-spin smoothing, startup/shutdown fixes and reduced repeated crash logging.
Enhanced exceptions: the new Legacy D3D11 snow stencil is disabled, and wheel-track rendering awaits an Enhanced Gen9 texture-loading path. Their simulation/helper code is preserved. See update notes and validation. The downloadable build is marked prerelease; the previous live checkpoint remains separate.
Requirements
- Windows x64 and GTA V Enhanced 1.0.1158.16, Story Mode.
- Compatible ScriptHookV and ASI loader. The test used its v3889.0 / 1158.13 distribution on Enhanced 1.0.1158.16.
- An Xbox/XInput controller, or DualShock 4/DualSense via the new upstream HID reader. PlayStation input is not yet live-verified on Enhanced. Gameplay uses Skate 3’s controller inputs.
- Your own Skate 3 Xbox 360 ISO or extracted disc folder. Tested: title ID
454108E6, media ID5C087C2C, no title update. - Enhanced-compatible OpenRPF for locally prepared DLC.
- Patched ReShade 6.8.0 and
SK8VHudBridge.addon64as described in the build guide for the scoring HUD and Hall of Meat presentation. - .NET 9 x64 Runtime and a separately supplied Gen9-capable CodeWalker build for first-run preparation. Setup can fetch verified portable Python/NumPy/Pillow if needed.
- SSD recommended; roughly 15 GB free for owned asset preparation plus game-directory staging/backups. See setup.
Story Mode only; disable BattlEye when using ASI mods. Online and FiveM are unsupported. Other Enhanced patches need their own address/resource validation.
Enhanced fixes
| Area | Adaptation |
|---|---|
| Animation | Validated Enhanced worker bindings; apply Skate poses after GTA’s animation jobs. |
| Characters | Support larger skeletons; Franklin, Michael and Trevor pose layouts covered. |
| Collision | Enhanced table capacity, record layout, tagged instances and streaming-owner checks. |
| Board | Native seven-bone board, Gen9 drawable conversion and DLC loading. |
| Graphics | Original HUD through D3D11-on-12 on GTA’s Direct3D 12 presentation path. |
| Audio | Enhanced native stream bindings, ring layout and lifetime handling. |
| Compatibility | Exclude unported Legacy private streaming/collider hooks. |
One Skate runtime supplies simulation and presentation. GTA renders the native player and board, without a second guest-character overlay.
Support Me

| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Weapon wheel → Skateboard, melee slot | Select the board / enter Skate mode |
| Controller Y | Mount or dismount |
| Hold Y | Put the board away and return to GTA |
| Keyboard / or Back + LB | Open SK8V settings |
D-pad gestures and riding/equipment settings are available in the upstream menu. Other skating inputs are Skate 3’s Flick-It controls. O is not required. Preparation runs in the background after the player loads; the first preparation on the tested machine took roughly 40–60 seconds.
Known limitations
- Stable observed play does not establish every surface, mod combination or game patch. Long-session performance and collision edge cases need broader testing.
- An extended test logged
Nonfinite grab queryand returned to GTA control. This simulation issue remains open; the guard restores player tasks. - Full NPC/car contact, death recovery and live Michael/Trevor gameplay need wider testing. Their pose layouts passed the headless test.
PedPoseCollision=0disables the unported Legacy private registrar. The Legacy weapon-wheel icon hook is not ported.- Some audio splice start offsets are unsupported; complete sound parity is not claimed.
- New Legacy snow-stencil and loose texture-registration hooks are excluded on Enhanced; wheel-track visuals are pending.
- Reprepare Trick Analyzer data for its display; keep the updated host and runtime together. See upgrade notes.
- Upstream teleporting/Editor limitations still apply. Return to GTA control before teleporting.
See docs/VALIDATION.md. Report issues with the exact game version, GPU and reproduction steps; avoid uploading game dumps, keys or extracted assets.

reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
the conditions stated in this License.
5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,
any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work
by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of

result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the
Work (including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill,
work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all

SK8V is an unofficial fan project, unaffiliated with EA, Rockstar Games or
Take-Two Interactive. It contains no GTA V or Skate 3 code or data; players
convert their own copies. ScriptHookV is not included: it is fetched from
Alexander Blade's official distribution (dev-c.com) and the ASI links against
its SDK import library.
Real-time collision detection: credit to Sol4ra. The live GTA collision reader
(host/src/physics_level.*, rust/skatev-runtime/src/live.rs) is adapted for
Legacy from Sol4ra's LS-Skate-LiveCollision (GTA V Enhanced), shared with
SK8V by its author.
This product builds on the following third-party work.
Skate engine (Apache-2.0)
2010 Rust Rewrite Mashup, by chasmlol, a fork of IW4L by vladtrc.
https://github.com/chasmlol/2010-rust-rewrite-mashup
Copyright 2026 vladtrc; Skate engine by chasmlol.
Fetched at the commit pinned in upstreams.lock.json; patches/skate/ holds
SK8V's modifications to it. Its Skate 3 engine crates (skate-core,
skate-data, skate-host, skate-net) are compiled into SkateVRuntime.dll.
Skate 3 HUD and asset pipeline (Apache-2.0 by grant)
skate-3-rust-engine HUD modules (apt_vm, apt_display, apt_movie, apt_text,
apt_scene, hud_runtime) and asset-pipeline exports, by chasmlol, used under
chasmlol's Apache-2.0 grant of 2026-10-07 at commit cb796893.
https://github.com/SK8-ENGINE/skate-3-rust-engine
rust/skate-hud compiles the HUD modules in place from the fetched upstream
(no donor source is copied into this repository); tools/convert-skate-data.py
runs the exports during setup. Later revisions of that repository are
GPL-3.0 and are used as reference only.
EA-XMA audio decoder (LGPL-2.1-or-later)
rust/skate-xma is a port of FFmpeg 4.4's xmaframes / WMA Pro decoder
(libavcodec), Copyright the FFmpeg developers, https://ffmpeg.org. It builds

Enhanced compatibility port
Maintained by Stonqz27, 2026.
Based on becaring/SK8V 1.1.8 at commit 9fbef449b51178521495d3f9dd90c91f98f7fe18.
Initial Enhanced adaptations were made against SK8V 1.0.9 (15b9a3b).
Modified host, live collision reader, skeleton handling, native board/DLC
preparation, Direct3D 12 presentation and native audio integration.
Additional build/test/documentation changes make the public source checkout
independent of the maintainer's private captures and workstation paths.
Project modifications are provided under Apache-2.0; all upstream notices
and dependency license grants above are retained.
ReShade (BSD-3-Clause OR MIT)
Copyright 2014/2021 Patrick Mours; https://github.com/crosire/reshade
Addon API 20 headers are retained under third_party/reshade with their
original notices and license text. The optional runtime uses pinned v6.8.0
source at 18deaa52de0c425a78b329e9cb3c497281cd00ec plus the documented
internal-DXGI-factory patch. This is an unofficial modified dependency.
CodeWalker resource preparation
https://github.com/dexyfex/CodeWalker
The optional Enhanced helper links against a separately supplied compatible
CodeWalker Core/SharpDX build. No dependency assemblies, retail resources,
game keys or game-derived caches are redistributed here.
