This project is an unofficial native recompilation of the Xbox 360 version of Skate 3, targeting Windows, Linux, and macOS. Rather than recreating the game from scratch, it recompiles the console executable into a native desktop program, so users must still provide their own legally obtained Xbox 360 disc image and title update. The project does not distribute any retail game files; it supplies only the recompilation framework and runtime environment.

Since v2.0.0, the project replaces Xbox 360 GPU emulation with a native renderer built directly on Direct3D 12 and Vulkan, covering gameplay, menus, HUD, loading screens, videos, and editors. The README claims more than double the frame rate at roughly a quarter of the GPU power draw compared to the emulated renderer, with an uplift closer to 10x on Apple Silicon. However, it also notes that the native renderer is early and likely to have issues, and that the author has not tested the game all the way through. Known issues include texture pop-in, problems rendering skater customization options, Hall of Meat not rendering properly, and visual parity issues in skate parks and park editing.

For online play, the project redirects the game’s original EA Nation service to community-run revival servers and adds experimental peer-to-peer modes built on ENet, including Spot Battle, S.K.A.T.E., and a party system. The README marks these custom modes as experimental and off by default. Building requires Clang 18 or newer, CMake 3.25 or newer, and Ninja, along with a fork of the rexglue SDK. Windows is the most tested platform, followed by Linux, while the macOS ARM build is described as experimental.
