ValCraft is a passthrough integration mod that aims to run Minecraft and Valheim at the same time, linking them through shared memory. The player controls a Minecraft character inside Valheim’s world, using Minecraft’s movement, inventory, HUD, hand, blocks, combat, and chat, while Valheim provides terrain, lighting, weather, creatures, and dungeons. Neither game is rewritten; Minecraft runs hidden and simulates the player, while a BepInEx plugin on the Valheim side handles collision export, character puppeting, rendering overlay, and combat and loot exchange.
The project is based on chasmlol’s SkyCraft, with the Fabric mod forked from it and the Valheim side newly developed. The README claims support for movement, building, first-person view, explosions, boats, underwater effects, combat, creature interactions, tools, hoe, bosses, Valheim item and armor conversion, a 3D weapons resource pack, loot mapping, block terrain mode, time sync, boss bars, fire, light, weather, death, and multiplayer. Multiplayer is explicitly marked as experimental and not fully tested, and the Build Hammer feature is also experimental.
Technically, ValCraft uses a shared-memory protocol mirrored in C# and Java. The Fabric mod targets Minecraft 26.3 and Java 25, while the Valheim plugin is built with .NET 8. Installation relies on Prism Launcher and a Gale profile, with an optional installer. The README lists known issues such as terrain clipping, missing conversions for some items and armor, host dependency in multiplayer, and unsupported Nether and End portals. Overall, ValCraft is a technically ambitious integration mod that remains in development with several features still unstable.
